Due to the housing crisis in the Netherlands, there is not enough student accommodation available and it is difficult to find suitable housing.

Fontys University of Applied Sciences (Fontys) offers a service to provide students with assistance in securing suitable furnished accommodation (i.e. a student room / semi-studio / studio) for the first period of their studies at Fontys. Fontys can only guarantee housing for a limited number of students. Therefore, we recommend that you keep on trying to find a room yourself. 

The deadline is 8 December 2024. 

Only after the deadline has passed, Fontys will inform you whether a room will be offered to you.

Note: You can not extend your rental period.

Your obligations

1. I request Fontys to arrange accommodation for the full period required.
2. I approve forwarding of my personal data to the landlord / housing agency* to prepare the rental agreement.
3. If I accept I will pay for the offered room for the whole period requested and I will sign a rental agreement upon arrival. A student applies for a rental period until the end of the study year. In case of my premature departure from the offered room, payment for the remaining period still has to be paid. When the landlord / housing agency* charges Fontys for the remaining period of the lease following premature departure, Fontys can recover this amount from me. In case of premature departure I therefore owe the remaining payment term to Fontys and must fulfil my payment obligation.  
4. I accept that the landlord / housing agency* will charge two month’s rent in advance, other rental payments will be charged monthly. Exchange students sometimes may be asked to pay the full semester in advance.
5. I accept that a refundable deposit + cleaning costs will be asked before or upon arrival by the landlord / housing agency.
6. I accept that arriving later or leaving earlier than the mentioned period will not lead to a lower total amount of rent.
7. I confirm that I have read the extended terms and conditions in the General Information on Accommodation and on the Fontys website.
8. I accept it is prohibited to live in a single room with more than one person.
