Language proficiency

For all course programmes conducted in the English language, a minimum level of proficiency in the English language is required.

Some applicants may be exempted from submitting language proficiency test results, as follows:

Applicants who have a diploma of secondary education in a country listed in the diploma list drawn up on behalf of the associates of institutions of higher education, as published on the website of the code of conduct
Applicants who have a Dutch mbo-4, havo or vwo diploma.
Applicants whose prior education was English-taught and who obtained a diploma in one of the following countries: Saint Martin, United Kingdom, United States of America, Australia, New-Zealand, Ireland and Canada (English speaking part only).
Applicants with an International Baccalaureate Diploma.
Applicants with a British General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) and General Certificate of Education (GCE).

Students, who are not fulfilling one of the abovementioned exemption criteria, must submit one of the following English language certificates as part of the enrolment

When Fontys has to apply for a student visa for you, it is mandatory for your visa application to submit a curriculum vitae and a motivational letter. Please upload it as one PDF.

The motivational letter should at least cover the following subjects:

describe your current personal situation
why do you want to study at the given study program
why do you want to study at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven
why do you think you are a fit candidate for the study program of your choice
how will you be funding the tuition fees and the living expenses
where do you plan on living during your studies in Eindhoven

Your Curriculum Vitae should at least cover the following topics:

All activities up until and including this month (education and career related)
Your marital status

Without this information, your enrolment application will not be taken into consideration.
